Distance doesn't matter anymore. Play quiz games with family and friends anywhere in the world using Google Meet, Zoom, or FaceTime.
Combine Quizbits with any video calling app. Each location plays on their own devices while seeing and hearing each other. The quiz runs simultaneously for everyone!
Pro tip: Each location can also Chromecast to their own TV, creating a true "living room vs living room" experience.

Follow these steps to get everyone connected and playing together.
Create a meeting in Google Meet, Zoom, or FaceTime and send the link to everyone. Get everyone connected so you can see and hear each other.
Tip: Each household should join from one device (a laptop or tablet works best). Individual phones are for playing the quiz, not the video call.
One person acts as the host. They go to quizbits.app/host, select or create a quiz, and start the game room.
Tip: The host can be in any location - they don't need to be physically present with all players.
The host shares the 6-character room code in the video chat. Everyone goes to quizbits.app/join on their own phone and enters the code.
Tip: Post the code in the chat so people can copy it, or just say it out loud - "The code is ABCD12!"
Each location can Chromecast the host's screen to their TV for a big-screen experience. See our Chromecast Guide for setup details.
The magic: Both living rooms see the same questions on their TVs while everyone answers on their phones. It's like being in the same room!
The host starts the quiz. Everyone answers on their phones while watching reactions through the video call. Cheer, groan, and celebrate together regardless of distance!
Free for up to 60 minutes. No app needed - works in browser. Great for families already using Google.
Recommended40-minute limit on free plan, but great quality. Most people are familiar with it from work.
Popular choiceEasy for smaller groups. FaceTime works great for Apple families. WhatsApp is worldwide.
Small groupsDo a quick test call 15 minutes before game time. Make sure everyone can hear, see, and connect to WiFi properly.
Join the video call from one laptop/tablet per location. Everyone uses their own phones for playing the quiz.
Background noise from multiple locations can get chaotic. Mute during questions, unmute for reactions and answers.
If playing internationally, find a time that works for everyone. Use tools like World Time Buddy to find overlap.
Personal quizzes are the most fun! "Who can identify Grandma's famous recipe?" or "Match the baby photo to the family member."
Video call fatigue is real. 15-20 questions is perfect. Leave time for catching up and chatting too!
Keep grandparents connected with grandkids. Weekly quiz nights become a cherished tradition.
